Inaugural PhD Oration Program

Our Institute’s 'Education and Training Committee' is initiating a series of 'PhD Orations' to celebrate the efforts and achievements of our PhD students and are pleased to announce that Ishmael 'Mikee' Inocencio from The Ritchie Centre will be presenting his 'PhD Oration' this month.

Our students can choose whether or not they’d like to present their work to their colleagues, friends and families, and enjoy refreshments together afterwards. 'PhD Orations' will provide an opportunity for our students to share their challenges and triumphs, and engage in some intellectual speculation about the significance of their research, before they move on to the next stage of their careers. PhD students who are interested in giving a 'PhD Oration', within 3 months before or after submission of their thesis, should discuss it with their supervisor (since supervisors will be responsible for organising their own students’ orations). Interested students and supervisors should get in touch with one of the members of the Hudson Institute Education and Training Committee to find a suitable date. Because our younger researchers’ achievements are not the only ones that deserve celebrating, the 'Education and Training Committee' hope to soon announce our first Hudson Institute Professorial Oration ... stay tuned!

Date | Friday, 19 July
Time | 3.30pm
Location | TRF, Level 2, Seminar Room 1.
