A day of pride at Hudson Institute
Hudson Institute is rich in its diversity.
Our researchers bring a broad range of perspectives that spark ideas that help
us answer important questions.
LGBT STEM Day is on Friday, 5 July and we’re
proud to acknowledge and celebrate with our LGBTIQ+ among us.
This international day is an opportunity to
celebrate diversity, improve visibility and support our community. Hudson
Institute is marking the day one day earlier on Thursday, 4 July.
Great Rainbow 'Bake off'
To celebrate, Hudson Institute will hold a LGBT STEM
Day Rainbow 'Bake off'. Everyone is welcome to show their support,
bake their favourite treats and join in the fun.
In support of the day our Hudson Institute
logo will turn rainbow coloured! Watch
out for it and show your support by liking the temporary logo on our Facebook
page. You can also tag your own images on social media with #LGBTSTEMDay and Hudson_Research.
Erin McGillick, part of the organising
committee: “The aim of LGBT STEM day is to celebrate
the wonderful diversity of people, their identities and backgrounds. It’s a
fantastic opportunity to foster an environment that promotes acceptance and
inclusivity for the LGBTIQ+ community, where everyone feels supported and can
be comfortable to be their authentic self both personally as well as
professionally.”
An open invitation
Staff are invited to apply their scientific prowess
to making baked goods and to take part in the 2019 LGBT STEM Rainbow Day 'Bake off'. To
