In April this year, the Hudson Institute Ride for Research Riders completed a challenging 520km ride from Echuca to Port Fairy as part of the Murray to Moyne Ride, which raises funds for health services across Victoria.
As a result, the Hudson team raised $26,528 towards the purchase of new equipment!
Combined with a $25,000 grant from the Rebecca L. Cooper Medical Research Foundation, the funds have enabled the Hudson Institute to purchase a new Clariostar Multimodal Microplate Reader.
This new state-of-the-art piece of equipment will replace an ageing, obsolete plate reader. It includes eight different modes to detect almost any wavelength on the UV-visible range. The plate reader will enable all of Hudson’s researchers to discover new diagnostic tests and new treatments.
The instrument is located on the 4th Floor, E Block at the Hudson Institute. The machine includes free software for analysis.
For further information and/or training for use, please contact either Ms Trang Nguyen (CEM) or Mr James Morgan (CEM).
