Publication to help guide IVF decisions

A book co-edited by Professor Lois Salamonsen that focuses on the endometrium is now available through Amazon.

The publication How to prepare the endometrium to maximise implantation rates and IVF is also co-edited by Professor Gabor Kovacs, a specialist in reproductive medicine from Epworth HealthCare.
The book forms part of a series that offers treatments and strategies to optimise IVF outcomes. The volume is for clinicians and embryologists working in reproductive medicine. The aim is to support evidence-based decisions that can influence the success rates of implantation.

In addition to featuring chapters from top international experts, contributions from Hudson Institute include Professor Guiying Nie, Dr Tracey Edgell and Dr Jemma Evans. Professor Beverley Vollenhoven from Monash Health, and Dr Sarah Hunt from Monash University, also contributed.

Professor Salamonsen said the book addresses the final, and most difficult, step in IVF, which is embryo transfer.
"The major impediment to IVF success is implantation of the embryo into a receptive womb. We update scientists and clinicians on the latest developments to ensure evidence-based practice," Professor Salamonsen said.
